Deadpool & Wolverine Near Global Box Office Record Before Digital Release

After dominating theaters for over two months, Deadpool & Wolverine is set to enter its next phase this week with a highly anticipated debut on digital streaming platforms. But even as it wraps up its theatrical run, this superhero blockbuster smashes records.

In its weekend at the box office, Deadpool & Wolverine added nearly $3 million to its domestic haul, pushing its global total to a whopping $1.32 billion. The film is now within striking distance of overtaking Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($1.325 billion), securing its place among the top 20 highest-grossing films ever.

On the domestic front, Deadpool & Wolverine is just $5 million away from surpassing Barbie to become the 12th-biggest movie in U.S. box office history. It’s also ranked as the seventh-highest-grossing superhero film ever. Following behind other Marvel hits like Black Panther, The Avengers, and Infinity War.

2024 has been a massive year for films, and Deadpool & Wolverine stands tall as the second-biggest release of the year, just behind Inside Out 2, which has grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide. Deadpool & Wolverine has also claimed the title of the highest-grossing R-rated film in history, nearly surpassing the combined earnings of its two predecessors.

With a production budget of $200 million, this third installment has pushed the Deadpool franchise’s total earnings to around $2.9 billion worldwide, cementing its legacy as one of the most successful superhero sagas ever. Keep an eye out for Deadpool & Wolverine on digital platforms this week!
